Need Help Planning A Conference, Incentive Or Meeting Around The Coromandel?

So close to Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga yet a world away from the office, The Coromandel is the perfect place to escape to recharge the batteries. The Coromandel has a range of professional venues and accommodation which are set up to cater for the boutique conference market and team building excursions.

Thinking of something different? What else can The Coromandel offer?

So you're prepared to think outside the box.  How about these options for your next corporate getaway, workshop, meeting or even boy's or girl's weekend?

Off the beaten track:

Heading to the remote corners of The Coromandel doesn't mean you can't have your cake and eat it too. Nestled below Mount Moehau on the remote bush-clad Coromandel ranges, lies Tangiaro Valley. This is home to a sanctuary for native New Zealand Wildlife and Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat. Accessing the retreat can take a bit of time, but once there everything you need is at hand.

Back to nature:

Forget the conventional conference venues and transport options. Convoy to The Coromandel in campervans (which will be home for the duration of the conference), nestle in beachside at a local campground and utilise large marquees for your conference venue. Catering, entertainment, furniture and electronic equipment can all be hired locally, packed lunches can be arranged or organise a BBQ on the beach to finish the day. It's been done before!

Off the mainland:

Keen to escape civilisation? With over 400km of coastline The Coromandel has many offshore islands, one of which is available for public use. Consider Slipper Island for your next conference or incentive.

Testing times:

Do you need to be taken out of your comfort zone or feel it's time to tackle a challenge? The Coromandel has plenty of adrenalin pumping and gut-busting activities to test your courage. Try tackling Sleeping God Canyon with its vertical descent of over three hundred metres down a steep set of waterfalls or hike the Pinnacles - from the top, you can view both coastlines of The Coromandel. Or chase that elusive Kingfish off the east coast, fish for snapper around the Mussel Barges, navigate the pohutukawa-lined Thames Coast Road on a Harley or let off some steam at Fun Zone adventure park.

Relax and revive:

Need to feel pampered, perhaps even rewarded for your efforts? The Coromandel, known for being good for your soul offers a great selection of feel-good activities. Check in at the Lost Spring Thermal Springs & Day Spa for a unique and relaxing experience, dig your own thermal pool at Hot Water Beach or sit back and enjoy the flavours of The Coromandel at local wineries and specialty food producers.

Cycle and dine:

The Hauraki Rail Trail is an hour from Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty. The grade one cycle trail is accessible and easy for all ages and fitness levels, ideal for the whole team. Meander through dairy country, marvel at the heritage relics and cycle through a tunnel and over bridges. Along the way sample the homegrown fare at a range of award-winning eateries. Catch the train between Waikino and Waihi and cycle back to complete the loop for an energising day away from work.
