Join us for a guided tour of The Little Gallery Whangamata with former art history teacher and local artist, Lynne Robinson!
Travel through time with Lynne, who will lead a walking tour through the gallery and share her knowledge of great historic and modern art movements. From Raphael to Mondrian, Chagall to Monet, learn all about the techniques, inspirations and significance of these classic artists, and gain fresh insights into contemporary artwork at The Little Gallery. See how our local artists reflect on and utilise these influences whilst adding their own modern twists!
Designed to be a fun and informal approach to art history, this tour is suitable for all - from those with little or no knowledge of the history of art, to the seasoned art historian! Questions are welcomed and visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the discussion with Lynne.
Lynne Robinson is a Whangamata-based artist, working primarily in the medium of drypoint printmaking. She has nearly a decade of experience as a high school art history teacher and was formerly Education Manager at Waikato Museum. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field, Lynne is particularly passionate about making art history fun, engaging and accessible for people of all ages and backgrounds.
