The rugged mountainous peaks are cloaked in native rainforest surrounded by more than 400 kms of spectacular coastline offering endless opportunities for fishing, diving, swimming, boating and surfing as well as exploring a region rich in history, culture and arts.
Although the Coromandel is located only 90 minutes from Auckland International Airport on State Highway 2, the longer and much more scenic drive of 2 hours along the Pacific Coast Highway is an absolute must. The road winds along the spectacular coastine with the ocean on one side of the road, mountains on the other and native Pohutukawa Trees over hang the road. The Coromandel is also within a short 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive to Tauranga and Rotorua.

Enjoy the unique experience of Hot Water Beach where at low tide you can dig in the sand, allowing the sulphur heated waters to rise to the top to create your very own thermal spa. Take a guided kayaking trip to Cathedral Cove and explore the marine reserve's caves, coves and islands.
