Happy New Year

January 2012

As we gear up for another fun filled busy summer on the Coromandel, it might be worth checking out the events calendar and noting a few dates.

Whangamata will be a hub of activity with the annual Whanga Week, Whangamata Summer Festival, Prana New Year Festival and the gypsy's will be back in town again too. For a bit of adrenalin you might like checking out the Thundercat racing or the Contact Tri Series. For a good old laugh dont miss the Outdoor Comedy Store.

If your planning to be in Whitianga, don't miss the Peace Festival, the Mercury Bay Summer Festival and Coromandel Gold.

The Keltic Fair is always a huge day with a vast array of colour and culture in Coromandel Town. The Tairua Food and Wine Festival is also a huge day and not to be missed. In fact there are many  markets and festivals scattered around The Coromandel, so make sure you head over to Hahei, Thames, Cooks Beach and Pauanui to check them out.

To round the month out we have the Moehau Multisport Race for those active folk or the Concert in the Orchard and the Thames races for those who like to sit back and be entertained.

This was Mr Wilson’s ‘trip of a lifetime,’ and top of his list was to ride a Harley Davidson. Bularangi Harley Tours received a booking from Mr Wilson and went on to inform him and all their other customers of the opportunity to win if they signed up to the newsletter.

Kopu Bridge Now Open to Traffic
The new two-lane Kopu Bridge was officially opened by Prime Minister John Key on Saturday, 10 December. A Public Bridge Walk was held the same day and attracted 8000-10,000 people.

The bridge is now open to traffic, so those long waits at Kopu to get to the Coromandel will now be a thing of the past
