Come for a scenic 1 hour train ride on this world-class mountain railway. Our innovatively designed trains take you through kauri plantings and impressive engineering features up to the splendid new terminus, the Eyefull Tower. Colossal views out over Hauraki Gulf and Islands. Train tickets are available at our craft shop where we stock our own pottery and souvenirs. We also have an ecology and local history information bookshop, including nature books for children. See also our brick-making machine and choose some colourful fired bricks. Ample safe parking and full public facilities. Coromandel Town’s special character with restored old shops reflects our heritage. Enjoy our wide variety of cafés, restaurants, bars and craft shops. The Waterworks offers a showcase of more that 50 fun features based around water. Quirky and interactive they are sure to bring a smile to every face. Figure out how the water clock works, squirt water from bike powered pumps, do battle with water canons and enjoy a leisurely stroll around the park before taking the time to indulge in delicious food and great coffee from our cafe. Only 12 minutes from Coromandel town and open from 9am, 7 days a week throughout the year.

A delightfully nostalgic journey from Waihi to Waikino (return) aboard an historic vintage train. The scenic 6.5km line takes passengers over farmlands, through cuttings hewn out of solid rock, over three bridges and affords great views of Ohinemuri River and the Karangahake Gorge.

Trains can be pre-booked for group tours and refreshments can be packaged with Waikino Cafe. The cafe provides delicious home-made food and beverages.
